Pearl 100 Hybrid world debut at FLIBS brings e-Motion hybrid propulsion to a 30 m flagship

Pearl Yachts debuts its first hybrid and largest model, the 30 m Pearl 100 Hybrid, at FLIBS 2026 with a twin-shaft e-Motion system pairing two MAN V12s with radial-flux electric motors.

Pearl Yachts is bringing its first hybrid model, the 30 m Pearl 100 Hybrid, to the 67th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show for a world premiere. The raised-pilothouse flagship will run from 28 October to 1 November 2026 as the centrepiece of the builder’s display, alongside the Pearl 82.

The hybrid system

The Pearl 100 Hybrid is the largest yacht Pearl has built and the first in its fleet with hybrid propulsion. The twin-shaft e-Motion system pairs two MAN V12 diesel engines rated at 2,000 hp each with two radial-flux permanent-magnet electric motors.

The installation supports several operating modes, including silent electric cruising and extended range. Pearl describes a Power Pack that is also designed to carry the yacht’s hotel loads without running a generator, which matters as much for anchoring out overnight as it does for low-speed manoeuvring.

Pearl has not yet published range figures, charging times, or battery capacity for the system in this announcement. Those numbers will be worth pulling at the show, since the value of a hybrid on a 30 m yacht rests heavily on how long the silent and hotel-load modes actually hold up before the diesels fire.

Accommodation and layout

The yacht carries five en-suite guest cabins, including two full-beam principal suites. The owner’s suite sits on the main deck and opens directly onto a private foredeck terrace, while a second full-beam suite sits amidships on the lower deck. A forward double suite and two twin cabins round out the guest count, with separate quarters for four or five crew.

Dixon Yacht Design handled the exterior styling and naval architecture. Fold-out wings extend the aft cockpit toward the water, and a passage links the extended flybridge directly with the foredeck. Interior styling on the debut hull uses Kelly Hoppen’s new Monochrome scheme, with the established Indulgence, Luxury and Modern styles available as alternatives.

What is actually new

The Pearl 100 Hybrid is new on two fronts: it is the builder’s largest model to date, and it is the first to carry hybrid propulsion rather than a conventional diesel-only setup. The layout follows the playbook Pearl established on the Pearl 82, with the full-beam main-deck owner’s suite and private foredeck terrace carried over to the larger hull.

The e-Motion branding and the radial-flux permanent-magnet motors are the real differentiator here. Radial-flux motors are mechanically straightforward and well suited to a shaft installation, which keeps the engineering conservative rather than experimental on a flagship debut.

Honest caveat

Until Pearl releases concrete figures on electric-only range, hotel-load endurance and the physical size of the battery bank, the practical benefit of the hybrid system remains an open question. Hybrid installations on yachts this size tend to earn their keep through quiet anchoring and slow-speed operation rather than meaningful zero-emission range, and buyers should push for the numbers that prove it.

Pearl will host an evening launch event for the Pearl 100 Hybrid at 6:00 pm on Friday 30 October at its hospitality area on the Hall of Fame dock, with Bill Dixon and Kelly Hoppen CBE attending.
